Along with lots of lamb, shortbread, rusks, (hard, dry biscuits dipped in coffee or tea) melkterts (milk tarts), and Cadbury bars, in every store, mall, and bakery, you will also find biltong, boerewors, and meringue. They are big things in Africa. The wors are the longest sausages you've ever seen and they like to braai (barbeque) them in the summer. Biltong is Africa's jerky. They don't have all the different flavors that we do, but they are huge fans of the stuff. They make tons of meringue. Pie and/or fruit shells, small shells for berries or whatever you want to put in them, and always lots of things for the kids. Bunnies at Easter, dolls most of the time, and all kinds of cute things.

Interesting how different areas get used to different things. How did you get your pics in the cute collage?! I need a tutorial!
ReplyDeleteI'm still learning. . . picnik.com is what I use. I think you can do it with picasa as well.
ReplyDeleteI think you can use picasa too, but I couldn't figure it out. I am so lame when it comes to technology. Ugh.
