This was a great bunch! Lots of good singers! Only two from the U.S., one from Australia, one from England, and all the rest from Africa. We had one from Madagascar who couldn't speak a word of English, and one from Mozambique who struggled as well. (The Madagascan speaks French and the one from Mozambique speaks Portuguese). You feel so bad for them to sit each day through all the classes, the firesides, etc. and not be able to understand. I had a book and a DVD for them to study English and that helped a little. It will be quite a challenge for this first year they are out. We did the Temple work for one of the missionaries parents and then he was able to be sealed to his parents. We also did the work and had one of the grandparents sealed. They love going to the Temple and it is such an added bonus when they can do work for parents and grandparents. It will be a long, long, time before they will have the opportunity to go to the Temple again.
They are going to the Cape Town, Kenya, and Uganda Missions.
A couple of weeks ago we were able to go to a live sealing. A family in our ward adopted a young man that had been staying with them for the past two years (roughly). It was so amazing. AND he is going to the LA Mission in June! I just love the temple.
