This is a fairly typical site in South Africa. They load them up and take them to work on the roads, the fields, or wherever. When they're finished for the day they load them back up and take them home. Many, many in SA do not have cars. They either get to work this way or ride a Kombie. In the evenings after work you see people lined up all along the roads waiting for the Kombies to come by. The Kombies think they own the road so you have to be careful because they go wherever and do whatever works for them. Laws don't come into play with them and, oddly enough, they never seem to get a ticket.

  1. The Kombies remind me of the buses and microbuses in Nicaragua. I couldn't believe the places the drivers would go with the school buses! The Kombies look more intimidating though.
