This group left us recently. They were very nice young men. Two of them had lost both of their parents and were able to do the Temple work for them and then had the wonderful opportunity to have their parents sealed and to also be sealed to them. Everyone loves going to the Temple on Tuesdays, but I have never seen anyone love it quite as much as the Africans do. It is such a spiritual experience for them. Most will not be able to come back for years because there will not be money enough to afford it. Many of them live very far from the Temple.

The curriculum at the MTC has changed a lot and this was the first group to get in on the new program. They are spending almost 40% of their time now doing "practice" teaching. Their teachers take the role of progressing investigators. They dress down and take on a character of someone they taught in the mission field. It becomes very real to these missionaries and becomes a very good learning experience for them. They are even able to video themselves teaching and go back and see how they did and what they would do differently next time.
