Eagle Scout Project

Elder and Sister Ward, who are senior missionaries in the Durban Mission, brought us an Eagle Project today from a young man who lives in Las Vegas. His name is Riley Littlefield. It was an amazing amount of shirts, sox, backpacks, toothbrushes and toothpaste, razors, deodrant, blankets, ties, etc. It will be a wonderful help to the African missionaries who come with so very little. I just couldn't believe so many boxes of "stuff!" I said if you don't mind me asking, I am curious to know how much it cost for him to send it here. I know that shipping is very expensive and then when the packages arrive, you have to pay an added tax to receive them and it is most often a pretty hefty tax. They told us that it was a total of $5,000.00 US dollars to ship and to pay the tax on this end. Yes, you read that number correctly if you were wondering about your eyesight and my typing. He said the tax on this end was about $2,600.00 so do the math and you know what it cost to send. Crazy!

We are so very grateful when others think of the missionaries and want to help them out. Their heart is in the right place! Thanks, Riley!!!
