Sister Mhembere on the left and Sister Ntshingila. We had no companion for Sister Mhembere so one of the wards asked Sister Ntshingila if she would come for three weeks to be her companion. She was very excited to do it because she is planning on a mission in the near future. When she gets her call she will probably not have to come to the MTC because she has had the full training already.Sister Mhembere is from Zimbabwe, but has lived in Joburg for the past year. She told me that she attended a career workshop one week-end and met a guy who was teaching people how to garden and be self-reliant. They got to chatting and he asked her what she planned on doing with her life. She told him she would love to serve a mission, but that she probably wouldn't because money was a problem. He told her to go visit with her Bishop and that if she was found worthy to go, to put her papers in and he would support her from the day she entered the MTC to the day she came home. She did go visit with her Bishop and he couldn't quite believe the story she told him so he called the man on the phone. The man said he would indeed support this sister. When she got her call she sent him an sms and asked if he could come to her setting apart. He and his wife did come and they are now supporting her on this mission. She is going back to Zimbabwe. Her mother died a few years back and her father doesn't have much to do with her since she joined the Church. Before coming to Joburg she was living with an Aunt.
She came to me this morning and asked me to help her write a thank you letter to this couple who are supporting her on this mission. She is such a wonderful young woman.
Holy cow - was the couple LDS?
